Septopal

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) chains and minichains loaded with gentamicin sulphate. The basic measure in osteomyelitis and osteitis surgical treatment is the radical debridement. The essential complementary measure of surgery is the local implantation of gentamicin PMMA beads, insuring a high infection healing rate and a low infection recurrence rate on a long term survey.

Features

  • High local antibiotic concentration, precisely where the infection takes place
  • Broad antibacterial spectrum
  • Effective on bacterial species which are known to be resistant against systemic antibiotic concentrations
  • No systemic side-effects for the patients
